Racial Separation in Christian Worship

November 11, 2007; Disc; Racial Separation in Christian Worship; by Marjorie O'Sullivan.

Nov 11,'07 (Sun) 2:00 pm. — DISC presents: Race and Faith  —  map to St. Gregory's Episcopal Church

The bible teaches us in First Corinthians Chapter 12 and Galatians Chapter 3, that all people who have been baptized in Christ are all one in the body of Chrish regardless of race, color, status, or resources. And they are also members of the same church body: and there should be no separation in the church body of Christ. And the church body of Christ should exhibit unity, joy, peace, understanding, and love for one another within the church body.

The reality is that in America in 2007, the church body of Christ is still separated based upon race and color. This fact prompted Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to observe many years ago that: Eleven o'clock Sunday morning is still Americas most segregated hour..." Therefore the church of Christ is not functioning the way Christ intended.

But there is action that we can take to help make the church of Christ what He intended it to be.

If you would like to learn more about what we can do to make a dramatic change in Christian worship in the church of Christ, please register and attend an interactive workshop being moderated by Dr. Terriel R. Byrd.
