Actions to Achieve Peace

Dan Dyer has written a little book called "Actions to Achieve Peace: What Every Citizen Can Do" (January 1, 2008, http://www.lulu.com/content/1769163). He is a Harvard Business School Alum, an IBM Alum, and founder and CEO of a high tech company. In his "grown up" years he has developed a passion for calling attention to our fiscal senselessness and possible remedies. His little book is described: "Based on political heritage and proven economic principles, a retired businessman proposes 136 actions by citizens to strengthen the U.S. to counter the ideological challenge and the military threat in the war on terror. Specific proposals address key issues in taxation, education, energy, health care, immigration, social security, federal vs. state responsibility, poverty alleviation, philanthropy, trade and other areas of domestic and foreign policy. Included are footnote references to more than 200 authoritative sources."

Since that publication, he has created seven YouTube videos to further make his point. Each video is highly specific and well illustrated with graphics.

He says: Liberals and conservatives agree that demographics will prevent the federal government from meeting its commitments for intergenerational transfers for Medicare and Social Security, while also paying the costs of Medicaid and interest on the federal debt. Our lunge into national bankruptcy would hurt the poor the most. By fixing this greatest of fiscal crises we can reduce our partisanship over issues of lesser importance, improve our dialogue, help satisfy our shared desire for greater unity and comity, and dispel the widespread notion that our individual opinions do not matter.

For recommended actions we can take to seize this opportunity, please view the videos I've put on YouTube:
